Teresa's Family in Quito

These pictures were taken in April, before Teri's visit here. Her daughters pose on the panecillo, a mountain spot overlooking the city of Quito. The picture at home with her family includes all of them, Braulio, Teresa, Jaime, Andrea and Lilián also taken before her visit.

I received thank-you notes from all of the kids...the art of good manners still exists in Quito. One of these days the rest of the family will get to visit, too.

Andrea (age 21 and a college graduate) is so tiny that she is one size larger than M (my 7 year old granddaughter). We bought children's sizes for the girls! Oops, I've spilled the beans, we may not get by with that again!! Aah, the dangers of public blogs!

Karaoke Kenny, here we come!

Must go. Getting ready for vacation. We're going to a Huerta family reunion in New Mexico. It should be fun. We fly to Phoenix, then drive to Bayard. (Don't ask, it's the economics! Check a map. We're headed to the Southwest corner of New Mexico. Hurley is sometimes shown on the map, about an hour from Deming. Bayard rarely shows up. Our choices are Albuquerque, El Paso or Phoenix, all of which require a 2.5 to 4 hour drive. Phoenix is way cheaper with a 3-something hour drive) We'll have lots of family time on the road -- although nowadays, we have to travel in two cars. One won't hold our entire clan of 8. (And let's not talk about baggage!)

Maybe we'll get the Iguana question answered: Big iguana/little iguana, harmless lizard/dangerous predator! (See June 26 entry).

Next time from the "Land of Enchantment". . . No, we not going anywhere near Roswell...wish we were. That's a "someday!"

Vaya con Dios!
