Unidentified Hanging Object!
(Blog #496. Go here to get in the drawing for the 500th blog!)

What??? Is that a dead chicken hanging there? Are we into sculpture on the ceiling? NOPE! Just a bit o' biscuit dough! Doesn't your recipe for biscuits involve throwing them on the ceiling?

Actually, I was popping some popcorn and there was this explosion -- not in the microwave. I did not scream, but I did jump a bit. And when I looked around I spotted the ceiling sculpture and this hanging from the counter!

Previously there were two cans of biscuits (the ready-made refrigerator kind....sorry Mrs. Darling. I couldn't find one of my recipes for homemade bread laying around. I think they all went on vacation, my recipes that is.) I was planning to have the children roll out a biscuit and fill it with a bit of strawberry jam and then bake them for empanadas tonight. Guess we'll go with plan B.
That's okay, I was rescued by my teaching partner. He's going to bring ice cream and chocolate syrup for sundaes. After all Ecuador does grow chocolate as well as make empanadas. (This is the Tuesday night curriculum in which for a 5 week period we study a theme [changing from the inside out], a Bible character [Paul and his conversion], and a country [Ecuador]. Terrific curriculum.

Although it doesn't call for biscuit dough on the ceiling! (Did I mention that I left them sitting out with the jam? Duh!)

As soon as I saw it, I started laughing and grabbed my camera. "Great! I need a funny blog!"

My husband came in and was appalled that there was dough everywhere. So out of the goodness of my heart, I helped him clean up my mess. And I stopped laughing. Sort of!

That is awesome! You mean the tube of dough blew up by itself? Sweet! That sounds like a Myth Busters episode. Very cool.

So this exploded while you were out of the room? Because I would've passed out from fear if that had happened to me. (Skittish like a Yorkie.) Too, too funny.

Oh my goodness! Now that is one that has never happened to me. Wow, the explosion power in those little cans.

Yep. Lidna, I was standing at the microwave waiting for my popcorn to stop popping, maybe 4 or 5 feet from the offending can. I probably would have screamed if the popping corn hadn't dulled the sound a bit. It was a dull thud and something hit the ceiling. I jumped and looked around. At first I didn't see anything. Then the biscuit can in the floor, then the counter and finally when I saw the ceiling I burst out laughing. (And I did the Lidna not Linda accidentally!!!)
